The Foundation is currently developing its education work in France and Holland and has outlier involvement with Russia, Brazil and China. Introductory websites in the following languages will be available shortly: Russian, Portuguese, Chinese and Dutch. A more substantial website is already available in French. We rely on partnering with organisations with similar aspirations to build a true community of interest.
The Netherlands is one of the first countries in Europe to take a keen interest in Cradle to Cradle principles. Interest in the circular economy has also been growing intensely over the past year as evidenced by the high number of Dutch members who have recently joined the Foundation’s Knowledge Transfer Network.
Over the past 18 months, the Foundation has built up some key business and academic relationships in the Netherlands e.g. with companies who either have C2C expertise (Desso, Van Houtum, Van Gansewinkel) or are trialling innovative leasing-based business models (Turntoo), and with Louise Vet, a professor of Evolutionary Ecology, a director of the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW) and a pioneer of the circular economy.
Early March 2012 sees an SCIPD (Scottish Continuing International Professional Development) study tour that the Foundation has organised in conjunction with Education Scotland which will visit both companies and a number of local schools who are starting to incorporate ideas for interdisciplinary learning and C2C principles.
If your organisation is able to arrange good quality translations of resource and information items which are of use in your area, or wishes to develop new resources cooperatively we may also be able to help. Our primary interest, outside Europe, is in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
On a project level we are part of the EU funded Working and Learning in the World of Cradle-to-Cradle initiative.
