Les has been employed in the energy industry for 30 years and is currently responsible for customer strategy and customer connection policy for National Grid’s gas and electricity transmission networks.

Originally qualified as a gas engineer, specialising in industrial and commercial gas utilisation, Les has enjoyed a wide variety of roles that have provided him with a wide perspective of the energy industry.

He currently leads a team that has been key to the development of a low carbon future for electricity, having implemented industry framework changes designed to accelerate the connection of renewable generation.
