Leading home improvement retailer B&Q has taken an unprecedented step towards changing their business model by setting up a Youth Board composed of 16-18 year olds.

The Youth Board is constituted of eight members, who will work with the company’s leaders to address future business challenges.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s education team is supporting the initiative through developing the Youth Board’s understanding of the circular economy as a framework for re-thinking business.

Youth Board members will help bring new perspectives and creative solutions to a real issue facing the business. In particular the board will focus on building a business model that works long-term in a world of increasingly finite resources.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for young people aged 16-18 to work with an industry leader.

How to Apply

The competition is now open for entries and those interested can apply at here. Judges will be looking for creative, passionate, enthusiastic and committed individuals who will make the most of this amazing opportunity.

The closing date for the first stage of applications is 17th July 2011.
