EU unveils original initiative to tackle two different issues in one go – marine pollution and necessary quotas on fishing, which put jobs at risk.
Rather than accepting that reducing pressure on fish stocks translates into a loss of revenue – or worse – for many fishermen, why not shift some of the subsidies towards a scheme that would remunerate crews to clean up the oceans?
