Re-thinking Progress: The C... [3:49]There's a world of opportunity to re-think and re-design the way we make stuff. 'Re-Thinking Progress' explores how through a change in perspective we can re-design the way our economy works - designing products that can be 'made to be made again' and powering the system with renewable energy. It questions whether with creativity and innovation we can build a restorative economy. B&Q Closed Loop Principles ... [14:01]Matt Sexton talks about B&Q's journey towards a range of products designed according to closed-loop principles. Filmed at Bradford 10+1 Conference 2010. The closed loop model is a biomimetic (life-imitating) approach, a school of thought that takes nature as an example and considers that our systems should work like organisms, processing nutrients that can be fed back into the cycle -- hence the "closed loop" or "regenerative" terms usually associated with it.
