Amongst other things, The Danish Business Authority co- finances development and works to nurture goods and services for the market. The Danish Business Authority supports possibilities for growth among entrepreneurs and stimulates creativity in the business community. The Danish Business Authority employs around 600 people.
The Fund for Green Business Development within the Danish Business Authority was established in 2013 with an aim to enhance green business opportunities and promote competitiveness and growth, as well as environmental improvements. The Fund for Green Business Development holds approximately 19 million Euros in 2013-2016.
The fund provides incentives for eco-efficient businesses and products by helping companies develop new innovative green products and services, use sustainable materials in product design, develop new green business models or industrial symbiosis that enhances business opportunities within the circular economy.
Efficient use of resources is and increasingly will be a decisive competitive factor for companies in the future. It is important for the Danish Business Authority to gain and share the newest knowledge, experience and best practices within green business models and resource efficiency to companies in Denmark. In doing this, the Danish Business Authority has a particular focus on SMEs.
The Danish Business Authority’s aim is to prepare Danish companies for a resource-scarce future as well as to enhance competitiveness and promote green jobs employment and growth in Denmark.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is an important knowledge partner within this field and the Danish Business Authority works with The Ellen MacArthur Foundation on economic and policy analysis, aiming to contribute to the knowledge base on business opportunities in the circular economy through active participation as a CE100 Region.
