Role and Responsibilities

You will work with a variety of stakeholders ranging from companies, policymakers, NGOs and others to set up Plastic Pacts in various countries across the world, and co-shape the development of the unique global Plastics Pact network.

This will involve the following activities:

Representing the New Plastics Economy externally. Being a representative of NPEC in meetings or on stage at events and conferences, able to clearly explain and convey our vision and to engage and advise stakeholders.

Stakeholder engagement. Working with and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders ranging from companies, policymakers and cities to NGOs academics and others from various different geographies, engaging them, advising them or collaborating with them.

Supporting existing Plastics Pacts, as well as advising the development of new market initiatives globally. Addressing individual local challenges and adaptation needs, while ensuring that overall success criteria are met. Identifying common challenges, as well as relevant insights and success stories to share and exchange across geographies.

Facilitating pre-competitive, multi-stakeholder meetings and workshops. Designing and planning the agenda and content of multi-stakeholder meetings, and effectively navigating group conversations to productive outcomes.

Capacity building & knowledge transfer. Actively contributing to developing the Foundation’s and the Plastics Pact Network’s expertise, with a focus on implementing solutions for a circular economy for plastics in various different markets. Packaging knowledge and insights into reports, case studies, and other assets and tools.

Your profile

You will have the intellectual capacity and analytical skills to understand the principles of the circular economy and to apply them to the global plastic packaging system (relevant industry experience is a plus).

Evidence of recent relationship management experience and excellent communication skills: the ability to interact effectively with individuals at various management levels across a variety of organisations and geographies; evidence of having written engaging documents.

Strong organisational skills: the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, establish priorities and effectively collaborate with various different internal functions and departments.

Methodical, analytical and robust in your thought processes, with the ability to actively contribute to internal and external problem solving in meetings; you will flourish with minimal guidance and be able to handle ambiguity.

A good academic record and degree level qualifications in business, economics, science, political science, or other relevant discipline.

A minimum of 2-3 years of previous work experience is essential for this role. Recent experience within a business or consulting environment is preferred.

Additional language skills to English are a definite plus in this role given the range of stakeholder engagement.

This role will require significant travel.
