Institutions and governments (national, regional and local) can create the right enabling conditions for circular economy activity to thrive. They can set direction where appropriate and be drivers of innovation and investment in a circular economy. From international institutions that set the global agenda to municipal entities that deliver change at the local level, we aim to engage stakeholders at all scales - from inspiration to implementation.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Formulate and drive the Foundation’s policy research strategy in line with the public sector. Managing and prioritising a pipeline of these identified research needs.

  • Project managing research content and insights creation including but not limited to the development of case studies, policy briefings for internal use, and research papers with the support of the Policy Research Officer.

  • Manage relationships with relevant research partners and provide input to external research projects, for example, taking part in advisory group meetings of a partner organisation as they develop their own research project on circular economy policy.

  • Coordinate with and provide policy input to other teams within the Foundation that are developing research, for example, writing or reviewing the policy recommendations chapter of reports, where relevant.

  • Build internal capacity on circular economy policy within the Institutions, Governments & Cities team and more broadly at the Foundation.

Your Profile

  • Academic degree in a relevant field (economics, environment, political science, law).
  • You have conducted policy research in a related field and understand the nuances of the public sector audience and their needs.
  • You might describe yourself as a ‘policy geek’.
  • You have experience in managing external stakeholders.
  • You are comfortable coordinating internal stakeholders and prioritising competing requests.
  • You have proven experience with programme development and strategic thinking.
  • You have strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • You’re a self-starter with ideas and opinions to bring to the team.
