Now we have a plan: Ellen MacArthur presents the circular economy at TED

July 04, 2015

Ellen MacArthur featured on this week following the video launch of her circular economy presentation at TED Global 2015 in Vancouver., which is dedicated to ‘ideas worth spreading’, provides a platform for thought leaders to share their insights with a global audience. The video of Ellen’s appearance at TED2015 last March has been watched over 100,000 times in its first 24 hours of release, enabling viewers from all over the world to engage with the circular economy framework for the first time.

After three years of research and insight gathering, Ellen established the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2010 with a mission to accelerate the transition to the circular economy – a more prosperous, regenerative and restorative economic system, in which growth does not depend on the consumption of finite resources.

The inspiring ideas presented by Ellen at TED will be explored further in the online Disruptive Innovation Festival, 2-20 November 2015, which is curated by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The Disruptive Innovation Festival showcases how thought leaders, business innovators, thinkers, makers, learners and doers are challenging the linear ‘take-make-dispose’ model of the economy, and invites participants to get involved through online and face-to-face events – to highlight ‘ideas worth implementing’.
