Three new members join the CE100 Network

March 06, 2020

The Foundation’s largest network continues to expand with three new members joining the diverse and dynamic CE100.

We are pleased to welcome Bic, Cargill, and deSter, a gategroup member into the CE100 Network’s pre-competitive space where they will contribute towards the transition to a circular economy through this unique multi-stakeholder platform.

BIC is a world leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers. Based in France, it was founded more than 75 years ago and today its products are sold in more than 160 countries. BIC has invested in using recycled and alternative materials, and is working towards increasing recycling and making more refillable products. In addition to its ‘Writing the Future, Together’ 2025 commitment, which includes improving the environmental and societal footprint of its products, BIC will invest in circular economy business models.

Cargill is a global food, agriculture, industrial, and financial services company based in the United States. Cargill's Bioindustrial Group is committed to adopting circular economy business practices by designing products and developing end use markets for its bio-products.

Based in Belgium, with production units in the United States and Thailand, deSter is a leading provider of food packaging and serviceware products to the aviation, hospitality, and food service industries. Underscoring its commitment towards transitioning to a circular economy, all new product developments will follow circular economy guidelines. From 2020, deSter aims to make 100% of new products from renewable, recyclable or recycled materials that can be recycled or composted. As of 2025, all its products will be reused, recycled or composted.
