MAVA - Fondation pour la Nature, founded in 1994 by Dr Luc Hoffman, is a family led philanthropic foundation, with a key focus on sustainable economy and the conservation of biodiversity.
As a Philanthropic Partner, MAVA enables the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to explore new areas of research and insight that will help accelerate the global transition to a circular economy.
This partnership builds on successful collaboration between the two organisations across several of the Foundation's projects including the Toolkit for Policymakers which provides tools and methods needed to embark on a circular economy transformation; the New Plastics Economy initiative which focuses on applying circular economy principles to build a plastics system that works; and an exploration of circular economy and industrial innovation opportunities in China.
An economy that uses resources without consideration for our planet’s natural limits cannot continue. Our aim is to help policymakers and businesses alike realise the staggering benefits of a circular economy within natural limits – across human, natural and financial capital. Having supported the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in several successful projects since 2014, we are delighted to further our partnership, to help strengthen the organisation and its work across the scope of the circular economy.
