Role at the Foundation

Sarah joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in 2013 as coordinator for the Schmidt MacArthur Fellowship and has since moved in to relationship management for the Foundation’s philanthropic community. Sarah acts as liaison between funders who share a common interest in achieving systemic change and the projects taking place at the Foundation to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.


After completing a degree in Biology at The University of Exeter, Sarah took to the seas gaining her Ocean Yachtmaster qualification before spending five years working on superyachts around Europe, the Caribbean, and the USA. Sarah then joined Global Challenge Business training amateur crews to race around the world before spending a further five years working on ocean racing yachts completing Atlantic crossings, the Fastnet race, and other international race events.
