Role at the Foundation
Soukeyna Gueye is Project Manager within the Insight and Analysis team at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Since joining the Foundation in 2016, she has been involved in the delivery of multiple reports exploring the opportunities of the circular economy for specific industries, business, and policymakers, and around topics such as climate change, biodiversity, and the Covid-19 recovery. She was for example a lead author of the paper “Completing the Picture: How the Circular Economy tackles Climate Change”, a collaboration with Material Economics, exploring the essential role that a circular economy can play in fundamentally shifting the global approach to tackling climate change.
Background
Soukeyna comes from the Netherlands and Senegal. She holds two masters degrees in Earth Science, and Environment and Resource Management. Her internship at Royal Haskoning DHV introduced her to the concept of a circular economy, where she investigated the level of circularity of the plastic industry in the Netherlands. In 2015, she joined MVO Nederland and worked on a programme aiming to accelerate the transition of a circular economy in the Netherlands.
In her spare time, Soukeyna can be found dancing tango and salsa. She is also passionate about chocolate.
