Are you a postgraduate student, at the start of your career, or an emerging innovator? Do you want to be a change-maker and bring greater purpose to your working ventures? We are looking for the next generation of circular economy pioneers! After completing the inaugural From Linear to Circular programme in London during June 2019, the first wave of circular economy pioneers are now implementing circular principles into their networks and industries. We will continue to run future workshops across the globe, register your interest and check this page regularly for programme announcements.

Programme details:

The From Linear to Circular programme will increase your knowledge of the circular economy. Through expert-run sessions and collaborative team-projects, you will learn from peers and connect to a growing community of next-generation circular economy pioneers. You will also expand your professional network and engage with active circular economy practitioners, such as members of our CE100 business network.

Completion of this programme will lead you to become an Ellen MacArthur Foundation circular economy pioneer, and you will join our global community of circular economy practitioners.

The programme will consist of the following three phases:

Online collaboration phase:

In the initial six-week online collaboration phase, you will connect and form small teams with fellow participants. From there you will begin working on a collaborative project and receive mentoring support (2.5 hours of work per week).

Immersive workshop phase:

The immersive workshop is all about empowering future circular economy pioneers. Experts will facilitate in-depth sessions and dedicated space is provided for collaborative projects which stimulate peer-to-peer learning. The programme provides a wealth of learning and networking opportunities and we will introduce you to our international network*, including business, academia, government, and media.

Circular economy pioneer phase:

After the workshop, you will join our community as an Ellen MacArthur Foundation circular economy pioneer. During this phase, you will be expected to take part in accelerating the transition to a circular economy by utilising your knowledge, skills, professional network, and your own circular solutions.

The programme has been made possible by the continued generous funding from the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Fund for Strategic Innovation.

*Previous guests during the workshop in London included representatives from our global network from IDEO, University of Exeter, University of São Paulo, Steelcase, PA Consulting, Granta Design, Materiom, Intesa Sanpaolo, Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Royal BAM Group, WRAP, CIRKLO & SmartinCircles, DSM-Niaga, and Coca-Cola. Ken Webster from the University of Exeter ran a follow-up webinar during the circular economy pioneer phase.
