The Ellen MacArthur Foundation Summit brings together business leaders, policymakers, academics, innovators, and pioneers to discuss the transition to a circular economy. At Summit 2020, held on the 9th and 10th September, our panel of speakers discussed how circular economy solutions can be scaled at speed to tackle global challenges such as climate change and biodiversity loss, and how we can create strategies for better growth — benefiting people, and the environment.
Speakers at Summit 2020 included business leaders such as Barclays Group CEO Jes Staley, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Danone CEO Emmanuel Faber, DS Smith Group Chief Executive Miles Roberts, Inter IKEA CSO Lena Pripp-Kovac, Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider, Solvay CEO Ilham Kadri, and Unilever CEO Alan Jope — alongside policymakers such as European Commission Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal Frans Timmermans, and advocate Lily Cole, among others.
Together, we discussed why the circular economy is more relevant than ever, with learnings from the Covid-19 crisis, and how we can build a resilient recovery following the pandemic. We talked about the role of government and business in leading the transition to a circular economy — and the need to step up, not step back.
The event was held online and open to every employee across our Network. The sessions were recorded and are now available to everyone — so please do watch our headline sessions above and explore our Summit 2020 Playlist on YouTube.
