In 2023 the Foundation will launch the Big Food Redesign Challenge and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Community Specialist to facilitate the engagement with and between the individuals and organisations taking part. The Challenge will support food designers to redesign products to model the circular economy within food.
In this role you will manage and oversee the Big Food Redesign Challenge digital community needs. This will involve working directly with players and managing the platform creating an experience that supports the Challenge and engages players.
You are a team player with an entrepreneurial mindset who brings experience managing online communities; has a track record of delivering excellent customer/support service; proficiency working with digital tools and technical teams, and a curious data-friendly mind who wants to know what works.
Specific role responsibilities include:
Own and manage Challenge Platform and external website:
Oversee operational support during the registration process and supporting prospective participants.
Manage support issues to ensure smooth running of access e.g. log in challenges, questions, functionality issues.
Manage and oversee integration of due diligence through registration process.
Become product owner for the system and work with key teams to manage and adapt to ensure optimal communication, clear guidance and engaging community.
In collaboration with other teams, adapt and maintain the public website of the Challenge to ensure it is quality and support engagement.
Support the Communications and Food teams to execute engagement campaigns to drive players to sign up and engage with the campaign.
Tracking and reporting engagement. Gather and analyse Challenge data identifying insights and stories.
Identify metrics and KPIs to track engagement to support Network team objectives and targets.
Work with the Digital Team to iterate and improve the systems as required during its lifecycle.
Drive Challenge Engagement:
Be the host of our digital experience for players in the Big Food Redesign Challenge.
Be highly responsive to challenge players on a day to day basis to help them access and engage optimally.
Manage Food Team Engagement with Community Platform
Work with the Food team at all levels to flag relevant content and queries ie. bringing in internal expertise where needed.
Maximise user engagement by connecting users to relevant Foundation resources, incentivising participation in Food Projects, and leading the thinking of the development of Food team community experiences.
Support Food Team Network development efforts to radically scale the number of professionals we are able to reach and engage globally
Your profile:
4-6 years relevant experience managing online systems and making improvements to the experience.
Experience of relationship or account management, working with global organisations and interacting day-to-day with stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of the circular economy concept and proven ability to apply and communicate the fundamental ideas to a range of audiences.
Experience engaging online communities through social media or digital platforms, planning and leading creative community initiatives.
Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and process automation and improvement.
Knowledge of how to develop data sets and experience with both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including advanced written and spoken English. Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills would be an advantage.
Evidence of recent experience working with and engaging a diverse set of stakeholders. The ability to interact effectively with individuals at various levels across a variety of organisations.
An entrepreneurial approach comfortable with ambiguity and change management.
Fast learner with the ability to compute and analyse vast amounts of data or information.

Closing date: 15th March 2023
Salary range: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience.

Location: UK based with regular attendance at our office in Cowes, Isle of Wight (subject to individual circumstances).
