The Ellen MacArthur Foundation has today begun a consultation on proposed changes to the way it is organised, to align the organisation more closely behind its strategic missions. The proposals include placing a number of roles at risk of redundancy.
A year ago the Foundation focused its work around three missions – plastics, fashion, and critical minerals – supported by a strengthened policy team. The early signals show the strategy is working: implementation projects are launching, new philanthropic partnerships have been secured, and governments are seeking the Foundation's input on policy.
The strategy is working and a tougher funding climate means the Foundation must concentrate its resources to sustain and build on that progress. It is therefore proposing to focus more of its people and funding behind the three missions and its policy work, and to reshape the organisation to deliver them. The proposed structure is designed to give the Foundation a stable base and the ability to grow its impact as it secures the funding to do so, working alongside its partners to deliver implementation at speed and scale.
The proposed changes affect colleagues who have played a vital role in the Foundation’s achievements to date and the Foundation will support every colleague affected with care.
