Pioneer Projects bring together stakeholders from across the plastics value chain to address the system challenges that no organisation can face alone. Encouraged to engage circular thinking and a systems perspective, the teams set out to independently design and test innovations that could change the way we make, use, and reuse plastics.
Pioneer Projects
Holy Grail - tagging and tracing packaging to facilitate accurate sorting and high-quality recycling
Lodestar - an alternative modelling to the conventional Plastics Reprocessing Facility (PRF) which offers potential advantages of combining mechanical and chemical recycling in a single facility
Proof - the design and prototyping of a plastic-based flexible packaging solution that facilitates higher quality recycling and contains recycled content
Barrier - Project Barrier, a collaborative Pioneer Project led by Amcor, brought together stakeholders from the entire plastic value chain, from material and packaging producers to brand owners and recyclers, to create an initial design guideline to minimise contamination and help increase the quality and value of PBFBP recyclates.
