In May 2021 one recognition was given, because the Backus company achieve all of its goals established in its Clean Production Agreements regarding solid waste management.

These Clean Production Agreements includes innovation on packaging or product design to drive elimination of problematic and unnecessary plastic packaging and/or products.

Promotion of innovation in business models and/or other alternative solutions to drive elimination of problematic and unnecessary plastic packaging and/or products: The Ministry of Environment of Peru has developed the Catalogue of Eco-businesses and Bio-businesses, that is a digital directory of sustainable enterprises. The aim of this catalogue is to support the strengthening in the market of this type of business, and, in this way, also promote responsible consumption of the citizens and encourage the creation of new sustainable businesses.

Other actions taken: In October 2020, the Technical Multisectoral Commission for the Comprehensive Management of Single-Use Plastic was created. The objective of this commission is to monitor and evaluate the results of the implementation of the legislation which regulates single use plastic at a national level.

This consists of a practical and interactive tool that allows to measure the level of maturity of companies, organizations and institutions in terms of the proper use of plastic, offering participants solutions and advice to improve and correctly manage plastic.
