What are Sprints?
Hands-on immersive experience to develop and test what is needed to accelerate implementation of circular solutions
Focussed on creating, doing, and the ‘how’ of circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature. implementation
Themed on priority topics of network
15-20 organisations, with competitors and value chain contributors working pre-competitively
Typically 4-day in person event in London preceded by a registration stage, including a session with us to refine your focus for the sprint.
The flow of each sprint will be bespoke to each topic, but will follow a typical design and innovation process. This will consist of discovering relevant research and external expertise, defining the specific challenge for your organisation or sector, developing ideas, concept, tools and evidence and setting up to test and pitch solutions to promote onward development.
Why come to a Sprint?
Sprints provide an opportunity for our Network to address ambitious, pre-competitive innovation challenges - that would typically be too complex or protracted to be tackled alone - in a hands-on way. The focus for our 3 Sprints this year responds to critical needs expressed by our network: the role of marketers and Marketing, scaling Circular Business Models and reconfiguring circular Supply Chains.
The aim of a Sprint is not to generate more analysis or information. The Foundation, alongside many others, has a rich back-catalogue of analysis, modelling, and rational explanation for a circular economy - and we continue to engage with our network to do further research. Sprints respond to the need to build confidence to move beyond incremental change, and through a design process, aim to facilitate the application of research, to foster more demonstration of the circular economy in action.
The Sprints are a longer format to our previous workshops, responding to the desire to get more granular on specific topics. This focussed time allows us to go deeper to progress ideas and concepts, so network organisations can get more concrete on circular economy implementation.
How can I take part?
There are limited seats for each sprint, therefore, the Foundation will be selecting participants based on sector diversity, demonstrable capacity to contribute, and past and current experience on the topic. We are looking for two participants to represent each organisation at a sprint.
Express interest to your relationship manager and complete the ‘Register your interest’ form on the following Sprint topic pages. Selected organisations will be invited to sign up and work with us to refine your focus for the sprint.
