This event will present how cities are measuring their progress towards a circular economycircular economyA systems solution framework that tackles global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution. It is based on three principles, driven by design: eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature., based upon a recent report by the OECD. It will discuss the different drivers and obstacles that cities face, and how they are overcoming them. Guest speakers are Oriana Romano, OECD Head of Unit for Water Governance and Circular Economy and Janet Ågren, the Deputy Mayor of the City Umea in Sweden, one of the case study cities in the OECD’s report.
