Partner with us

As a charity, our work would not be possible without funding provided by our generous donors. We have built many highly impactful, long-term partnerships with our benefactors, engaging many in our programme of work and progress. Our philanthropic partners enable us to allocate resources where they are most needed and give us the agility to respond to new challenges and opportunities.

We co-create our projects and priorities with our philanthropic partners. All our funders gain access to programme updates, insights, and in-person opportunities for learning and knowledge exchange.

Support from trusts, foundations, and major donors

We warmly welcome funding from philanthropic partners to support our initiatives and drive impactful change. If you’d like to find out more about providing philanthropic support and the ways in which we work with grant-making organisations, please contact us.

One-off donations

We also welcome one-off individual or corporate donations. If you are interested in supporting the Foundation in this way, please contact us.

Thank you to our current philanthropic partners for their generous support.

By orchestrating system change in the economy, we can help create a thriving world for the long-term.

Why the circular economy matters

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation's mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy, which is designed to eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials (at their highest value), and regenerate nature.

A circular economy is an economy that works for all. It’s a system that can create lasting balance between people, prosperity, and planetary boundaries. The circular economy will:

  • create jobs

  • build resilience

  • contribute to a just transition

  • progress the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

  • decouple economic growth from resource use

  • regenerate the environment

Our global approach

We believe the fastest way to change the economy is to work with the system. Businesses have a crucial role to play. Voluntary business action combined with ambitious policy measures can drive rapid progress. As an independent NGO, the Ellen MacArthur Foundation plays a key role in galvanising simultaneous action on both fronts, across the globe.

By developing robust research, engaging key changemakers, demonstrating change in action, and measuring progress, we help to set effective policies, find new ways to do business, and design better products and services for people and the planet. Our adaptive approach means we’re constantly learning, finessing, and adjusting to the changing world around us.

An international approach

The transition to a global circular economy demands an international approach. We’re working across the world – with offices in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia – to demonstrate how the principles of a circular economy can create benefits for different places, people, and cultures.
